Interview (task 23)

Questions for interview

Why did you choose to live in the Student Village?

What is it like living in the SV?

What activities do you enjoy playing in the SV

Rajneel:

I choose to stay in the student village because it was close to campus plus i wanted to find how the student life was. I found out about the student village through a class mate who was studying the same course as me and that was also one of the reasons for moving into the student village as I could get support from other students who were studying the subject as me. The student village is also located very close to the campus so the travel time is minimized and its really convenient as you can come back if the class finishes early. I also worked for MIT so it was really convenient to be part of the student as I could also update on the latest news from MIT. There was also no need to buy much furnishings of cookware as everything was provided. I also choose to move into the student to be independent and become mature with finances and life overall. Overall it was to have more freedom to do what I wanted.

Living in the student feels like a community and becomes like a second family. Its safe and sociable and you get to meet people from all over the globe. There is always a village manager who is there to help. We get share food and learn about the different cultures. Its very unique in terms of the setup as there are 14 different houses with 9 rooms each. You don’t get limited to the house you stay in and can talk with anyone , get to know them . Meeting new people from different backgrounds gives you a new perspective in life and help you grow personally and socially. You get to be free to makes all choices for yourself.

At the student village have monthly activities planned and there is a huge variety to choose from which can be include different sports , movies, paintball, quiz nights, talent quests, skiing, road trips and we gets discounts. Student also can organised different events on their own such as beach trips , hot water spas, bowling and just simple night trips to the city. The options are endless as there is always somebody doing something and if you tag along you get to enjoy different activities.

So as for me, I have learnt a bit more about the village. I agree with Rajneel, the student village is close to the campus and also its close to the market too.
